Boil water advisory lifted for areas in
Charleston

CHARLESTON, W.VA., October 22, 2008 – West Virginia American Water has lifted a boil water advisory for customers along Scenic Drive, Rural Route 9, Elk Two Mile, Rural Route 6, the area of Big/Bottom Hunter Road , Greenbrier Street (from North Gate to Go-Mart at Rutledge Road), Rutledge Road, Short Drive, Mayflower, Hamilton Circle, Dudley Drive, the Valley Grove area and Bakers Fork in Charleston. The advisory was issued Tuesday after a water main break caused a water service disruption.

Results of water quality testing have confirmed that water quality meets drinking water standards, and there is no further need to boil water prior to consumption. West Virginia American Water thanks its customers for their patience and cooperation during this event. Customers are encouraged to share this information with other West Virginia American Water customers in the affected area listed above.
