In Hawaii we offer the following payment methods: Pay by Mail Use the convenient return envelope provided to you with your bill. Detach and enclose the bill stub with your check or money order. Do not send cash. Automatic Payment Sign up for Automatic Payment, and your bill will be paid on time, every time, directly from your checking or savings account on the date it is due. Download the Automatic Payment Form for complete instructions. Pay by Phone If you do not have questions about your bill, you can call our toll-free, pay-by-phone number at 866.271.5522. There is a small fee for this service from our third-party vendor. Be sure to have your ten-digit account number handy. This is located on the upper right-hand corner of your bill. Online Bill Pay You can use your Visa or MasterCard credit or debit cards to pay your bill online. For more information, visit: www.paymybill.com Pay at at local payment location For our customers who prefer to pay in person, stop by our local office located at 6700 Kalanianaole Highway, Suite #205 in Honolulu. Our office is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please note this location DOES NOT accept payments by mail. Understanding Your Bill The service charge on your bill allows the company to recover a portion of fixed costs necessary to provide customers with access to service. Power, chemicals, maintenance, rent, customer service, and administrative service expenses are examples of these costs. Today, Hawaii American Water’s residential customers are billed a flat rate. However, the bill for commercial customers is based on the volume of water they consume as measured by a water meter at the service location. Payment is due upon receipt of the billing statement and is past due 31 days from the billing date. After 37 days, a late fee of .5% will apply. All returned payments will incur a $15.00 surcharge. For residential customers, your sewer bill is a flat service charge. For commercial customers, your bill is based on your water consumption.
